Day 2 & Day 8 Postal Service FAQ’s

From 19th July the government will no longer recommend against travel to amber list countries. People covered by the amber list rules (https://www.gov.uk/guidance/red-amber-and-green-rules-for-entering-england#amber-list) who have been fully vaccinated with an NHS vaccine, will not need to quarantine on arrival in England or take a COVID-19 test on day 8.

You must book your tests before you travel.

It is your own responsibility to make sure your passport has not expired, and has sufficient time remaining on it to comply with all rules in place for your destination country.

The Day 2 & Day 8 Postal Service is £175.00 from NPH Group.

You should allow 4 days from ordering your test to delivery.

If any part of the test kit is missing, faulty or damaged NPH will replace the item. Please contact NPH Group at 0191 605 3146 or via email testing@nph-group.co.uk

You MUST carefully follow the self-swabbing instructions provided with your test to ensure an adequate sample is collected. NPH accepts no liability for indeterminate results which may arise due to poor sample collection

In the rare situation that your test is invalid or inconclusive, the sample will be retested. This may cause delay to your result being sent to you. In most cases, you will receive the result after an invalid test has been retested. The incidence of an invalid test is 1:1000. We have reduced the risk of invalid tests and false negatives considerably by providing a face-to-face testing service which helps to ensure an adequate sample is collected

You must carefully follow all packaging instructions and use the correct boxes and stickers to return the sample to Yourgene Laboratory

You must only return the sample via a Royal Mail Priority post box.

Please be aware that Royal Mail DO NOT deliver on Sundays and Bank Holidays and this may result in a delay to your sample arriving at the laboratory. NPH accepts no liability in this regard.

You will receive your results within 48 hours after your sample is received by the laboratory. You will receive a notification of receipt via the NPH iMed mobile application if you decide to download it.

If your test result is positive you will need to quarantine for another 10 days.

You must comply with all current government guidelines on quarantining.

You will not be entitled to a refund for your Day 8 test if you get a positive result from your day 2 test. You must isolate in line with Government guidance.

If you have arrived from an Amber list country or territory, the day 2 and day 8 tests are a mandatory requirement for entry into the UK. Please see https://www.gov.uk/guidance/how-to-quarantine-when-you-arrive-in-england
